Whether its buying duplicate copies of an album, one for playing and another for display, or meticulously organizing, shelving and sorting their library, record collectors take their hobby incredibly seriously. Hell, an Australian collector named Brad Miocevich recently finished construction on a new home built specifically to house his massive, 30,000 records collection.
With his Dust & Grooves series, photographer Elion Paz captures people like Miocevich in their natural habitats, surrounded by the records that almost more than anything seem to keep them going. The project is ongoing and available both online and in book form, with additional pictures and interviews with the collectors. It’s worth investigating in full, but as a teaser, here are some of our favourites.
