You know that feeling when you stumble across an artist that feels like they belong to several eras at once. That’s Ralph in a nutshell, the rising Canadian singer from Toronto, Ontario. She evokes the distinct sensuality of late 20th century yacht rock with the forward thinking momentum of Balearic pop from the future. Since the release of her self-titled EP, we haven’t been able to get enough. Whether she’s singing us lullabies about the changing seasons or giving pristinely-crafted melodies a James Turrel-inspired treatment, her music inspired you to accept life’s subtle drama as just a part of the process.
Last fall, Ralph took us to Westward Festival in Vancouver where she performed alongside Vince Staples and Charlotte Day Wilson. From running errands to worshiping at a shrine for Drag Race queen RuPaul, we love an artist who knows how to have some fun and we’re so glad she brought us along for the adventure.
