Last night, Chris Martin paid his respects to late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington by covering Hybrid Theory single “Crawling” during a Coldplay show in New Jersey. Dedicated to “anyone who’s missing someone,” Martin delivered a plaintive solo rendition of the stormy 2000 hit, while the rest of the band were offstage.
What made the performance particularly special was the fact that Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda was in the audience, and managed to snap a few seconds of the song, which he uploaded to Instagram:

Linkin Park were scheduled to perform in the New York area a few days prior to the Coldplay show, but the tour was cancelled following Bennington’s suicide on July 20th. He was 41, and is survived by six children.
