In terms of unlikely collabs, Solange Knowles coming out during an Incubus show ranks right up there with Drake featuring on the next Meek Mill album. Somehow, though, that’s exactly what happened last night in New Orleans, when Solange came out to help Brandon Boyd and the rest of his long-running, Grammy-nominated alt-rock outfit perform “Aqueous Transmission,” from their 2001 album Morning View:
Solange joining Incubus, one of the preeminent groups from the short-lived, long-dreadlocked Nu-metal-bands-with-DJs Era, might not be as random as it appears on its face, however: she told Teen Vogue a few months back that she went through a phase of being a “Rasta-vegan-thrifter-who-is-determined-to-marry-Brandon-Boyd.” And really, who among us didn’t?
