If the folks at POP Montreal had left it at this spring’s initial announcement, we would have had more than enough to feast on. But they didn’t, and with the announcement of their full 2018 lineup, the annual Montreal music festival has delivered a full buffet. Their complete 2018 offering features a massively diverse range of artists from nu-(North) Americana heroes Bill Callahan and The Weather Station to legendary matriarch of Canadian film, music and activism, Abenaki artist Alanis Obomsawin.
Looking for rap’s next wave of heavy hitters? Cupcakke and bbymutha will be in attendance. Hoping to catch electronic music’s most intriguing masterminds? Zola Jesus and Molly Nilsson are both booked for shows. And between R&B innovators with a firm grip on the direction of the genre, like Dounia and Littlybabyangel, and indie rock bands that bang, like Nap Eyes and Wolf Mother, there are plenty of reasons why you should just book off the last five days of September.
