Death, taxes, and Kelly Clarkson’s face on your TV seem to be the only three certainties in life. The singer appears to be in talks with NBC Universal – for whom she already calls home by way of her chair spot on The Voice – to join the ranks of Doctors both Phil and Oz as the host of an upcoming syndicated daytime talk-show.
Though details are currently scant in advance of the show’s proposed Fall 2019 debut, her new role as a talk show host is merely the latest hat for Clarkson to wear in a storied career that includes award show MC stints, eight Billboard-topping albums, Grammy noms, and even a short-lived, Razzie-nominated stint as an actress.
Clarkson may be used to coming out on top against stiff competition, grabbing onto our hearts back in 2002 as the first-ever American Idol winner and never letting go, but it appears another showdown may be on the horizon for her, with RuPaul also set to throw his glammed-out gauntlet into the daytime talkshow ring. We’re currently dreading 2019, when we’ll have to face the real Sophie’s Choice of watching either Since U Been Talk or RuPaul’s Gab Race when home sick from work.
