Its official: thanks to the smash-hit sales performance of “Firework,” “Dark Horse”, and “Roar”, Katy Perry has become the first-ever artist to earn a record three Diamond RIAA-certified singles, meaning they’ve each sold in excess of 10 million copies.

Congrats, KP. The sales certification, which now combines streaming with straight physical and digital sales, cements the singer’s accomplished track record of pop hitmaking. If the record three diamond hits from one artist wasn’t enough, it appears that she’s about to have a fourth diamond certification for “E.T.,” her 2010 Teenage Dream single. The next closest artists, with two diamond certifications each, are Lady Gaga and Eminem, with Shady only joining the exclusive double-diamond club a year ago for “Not Afraid.”
All in all, it hasn’t been a bad day for the pop star formerly known as Kathryn Hudson.
