October might be the month of jack-o-lanterns and Ouija boards, but you don’t need to wait til Halloween to get weird. Trade in the unpredictability of Canadian autumn (which, as you know, can encompass anything in between light sweater-weather to full-on blizzards) for the glorious unpredictability of the bizarre and unique musical vibes that Desert Daze has brought to sunny California for the past six years.

The music festival, running from October 12th to 14th this year, just revealed phase four of its lineup, an announcement that sees shoegaze titans Slowdive and West Coast psychedelia institution Wooden Shjips join a bill already overflowing with every variety of musical weirdness imaginable, from psych-rock sultans Tame Impala and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, reverb reverends My Bloody Valentine and Earth, and the pure experimentation of artists such as Death Grips and Julia Holter. No matter what direction your musical taste strays off the beaten path, Desert Daze has something for you – and they’ll bring it to you under the sun and stars of California’s Moreno Beach.
With these new lineup additions also comes the solidification of the daily schedule along with the introduction of single-day tickets for the more particular of festivalgoers. You can hop on the West-coast weirdness express by grabbing your passes here.
