It’s hard to imagine how Camila Cabello couldn’t be a fan of the Jonas Brothers. She was 11 when Camp Rock came out in 2008 and the teen heartthrob meter tilted away from Zac Efron and in the favour of Kevin, Nick and Joe. That year, the Jonas Brothers graced the cover of probably every issue of Tiger Beat and J-14 while also garnering critical acclaim for their album A Little Bit Longer which landed them the 40th spot on Rolling Stones “Best 50 Albums of the Year.”
I mean come on, look at the music video for “Lovebug.” It’s undeniably cute as hell.
And this Instagram post of Camila freaking out over Joe in the background in 2012 is beyond adorable.
That’s why we can all get in on the excitement when both Camila and Joe — representing two generations of teen stars — teamed up for the carpool (with an extra dose of karaoke in the side.) We also get exactly why Camila was so excited. Regardless of what degree of celebrity status you reach on your own, there will always be something thrilling about not only meeting your idols, but have the opportunity to level with them.
Camila is proof that this is almost always a winning combination — and the fact that they dueted on “You’re The One That I Want” from the Grease soundtrack just sweetens the deal.
Because let’s be real. On occasion, Joe Jonas is still someone to get excited about.
