Here’s why there was so much Fiji water at the Golden Globes

Fiji managed to creep into basically every major photo of the event.

Amidst all the Seth Meyers jokes, unexpected award recipients, and reckoning with decades of sexual misconduct at last night’s Golden Globes, one attendee had a low-key amazing night for their brand. There’s one way to up your profile in Hollywood, and that’s appearing in multiple sponsored Getty images of a major awards event.

The preferred brand of people who like their water in square bottles, Fiji used the event to promote their new initiative to support female directors. Reportedly, for every celebrity photographed with a  of bottle Fiji Water on the red carpet—and at other upcoming awards shows like the Critics’ Choice Awards—the brand will donate $1,000 (up to $100,000) to the American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women.
