Harry Styles’ factory settings may have his default persona set to “young heartthrob,” but we’ve also seen him take on a diverse range of other roles, including Fake WW2 Soldier and Real Late Night Host. As of this fall Styles—or at least some version of him—will be expanding that oeuvre by swapping the sound of screaming fans for a laughtrack in Happy Together, a multicam sitcom that Styles both inspired and produces.
Set to air on CBS, home of Sheldons both young and old, Happy Together stars Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Nicole West as a thirtysomething couple who welcome thinly-veiled, Definitely Not Harry Styles analog “Cooper James” (played by Felix Mallard) into their home as a means of helping the young star escape the paparazzi and live a normal life.
The sitcom, produced both by Styles and Carpool Karaoke co-creator Ben Winston, was purportedly inspired by a period where Styles briefly moved in with Winston while filming Karaoke. The trailer, linked below, suggests that even though these characters may come from different worlds, well, it turns out, they might juuust all learn something from each other along the way.
