Your whole childhood continues to become more binge-able, with the first trailer for the long-awaited adaptation of the Artemis Fowl series dropping this week, in addition to Netflix unveiling a massive initiative to adapt numerous works of beloved author Roald Dahl for their streaming service.

These announcements prove pop culture’s growing focus on not only on serving up nostalgic comfort food, but warming the hearts of ex-childhood bookworms everywhere, with Fantastic Beasts 2 continuing to carry the torch of the Potter-verse and Young  Adult steampunk series Mortal Engines even having a decidedly whack-looking big-screen adaptation hitting soon. Despite these trends, numerous blindspots still remain when it comes to having the pages we used to bury our young noses in brought to the big screen.  We want to bring to your attention 8 childhood classics that we’re eager to see brought to life.
