Almost a decade later, Felix Cartal’s runaway hit “The Joker” (which received love from everyone from Diplo to Benny Benassi) still feels like one of the most inspired, and intricately constructed EDM songs to drop on this side of the Atlantic. After cutting his teeth in the west coast punk scene, Cartal has become a crucial arm of Canada’s ever-evolving electronic community, oftentimes providing Canadian artists with the dance-floor treatment their music deserves.
To celebrate the 48th Juno awards, we got Felix to take us through his day on his way to DJing the big event. During his Side Stories take over, Cartal gave us an inside look at everything from his wardrobe choice to his view in the middle of the DJ deck. Yup, we felt like we were there and it was cool AF. Oh yeah, and the always cherubic Michael Bublé makes a special guest appearance.
