Mac DeMarco brought his trademark wavy swagger to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Friday and no doubt won himself some new fans thanks to his stunning rendition of “One More Love Song,” but the real highlight could easily have been lost in the details.
John Cena was also on Fallon that night, and Mac came prepared. Check out the shirt he wore:
Can’t read it? Let’s zoom in:
Among Cena’s trademark “Can’t See Me” tagline and a callback to his kayfabe rap track “Basic Thuganomics,” the shirt tells a story; one of Cena inexplicably wrestling Cena, trademark Viceroy cigarette in hand, and losing. But like everything Mac does, he’s losing with a smile on his face. Up top, it reads: “John threw me to the floor, grabbed me from behind and put me in his submission move.”
But while t-shirt Mac lost the fight, real life Mac won the night if not with this pic, than with his performance (which you can, and should, watch below).
