Shania Twain has been on a damn journey.
First, her marriage fell apart after her husband (and longtime producer) Mutt Lang cheated on her. With her best friend.
And then she lost her voice. Like, literally. A dysphonia diagnosis meant Shania had to go through extensive therapy just to be able to speak properly, let alone sing. In the process, her singing voice changed–it’s a little rougher around the edges now, sure. But in her first new single in 15 years, it’s plainly clear that this is still the Shania we fell for back in the 90s. Like the lyrics say: Life’s about to get good. And hell—she’s earned it.
The song is the lead single off new album Now, which is her first since 2002’s Up. It hits stores on September 29th.
