* UPDATE: He was asking for $200,000. Now he needs $1 million.
Ever since about 500 BC, when Eratosthenes of Cyrene looked up at the moon and sun and thought, “hey, if those dudes are round, the Earth is probably samesies,” the scientific establishment has generally agreed that we live on a floating sphere that’s hurtling around the sun. Never one to give up on an idea, though, rapper B.o.B. is doubling down on his (and many others’) long-held belief that the earth is flat, roughly 2500 years of scientific consensus be damned, and now he’s started a fundraising campaign to prove it. Somehow.
B.o.B.’s GoFundMe page is asking for $200k* USD to prove once and for all that we live on a flat plane, apparently by purchasing and launching “one, if not multiple” satellites into space in an attempt to find, or disprove, the Earth’s curve. Hey, multiple satellite launches for *$200k? Sounds pretty damn thrifty to me. Is Chabuddy G building these?
Since January 2016, B.o.B.’s been on a quest to enlighten the world about the true nature of our planet. “A lot of people are turned off by the phrase ‘flat earth’ . . . but there’s no way u can see all the evidence and not know . . . grow up” he said on Twitter at the time, to widespread ridicule and disbelief. He even released a song about the whole thing, in which he told off the (((globalists))), and told Neil DeGrasse Tyson to loosen up his vest:
“I’ll be keeping you updated with step-by-step documentation of the process!” the GoFundMe page says. Please do.
